About the Herman Hochberg Plaza
The Myrtle Avenue BID worked with New York City Department of Transportation Division of Planning and Sustainability and the New York City Dept. of Design & Construction in developing an enhanced public space at Herman Hochberg Plaza, formerly 71st Avenue Plaza. The Plaza has reclaimed the underutilized slip road between Stephen Street and Myrtle Avenue to improve safety, maintain operations for adjacent businesses, and provide 3,000 square feet of enhanced public open space for residents and shoppers.
