Holiday Promotional Programs

The Myrtle Avenue Bid offers a variety of holiday-themed programs throughout the December Holiday season to provide an enhanced shopping experience for everyone.  All holiday events are posted on the BID Facebook page & Twitter and e-notices are sent out via Constant Contact.  Ads are also placed in all local newspapers.

Holiday Music

Holiday music is played from speakers on Myrtle Avenue light poles (from Fresh Pond Rd to Wyckoff Ave) from the day after Thanksgiving until December 25th.  Musicians and/or carolers stroll The Avenue on designated days during the holidays.

Holiday Lights

Holiday Lights are installed along Myrtle Avenue and adjacent side streets by Illuminations by Arnold, Inc. and are lit from late November through December.  Decorations (evergreen trees, poinsettias, menorahs) are placed on 16 light poles in addition to 24 full arches featuring bells, snowflakes, and other assorted designs.  Two signs that read “Myrtle Avenue BID” in the form of the BID logo are at both ends of the avenue.  All of these decorations are created with rope lights.
