Open Restaurants/ Open Storefront Programs
Since the spring of 2020 over 25 Myrtle Avenue restaurants have participated in NYC’s Open Restaurants program with outdoor dining throughout the day and evening. In addition several stores have registered for the Open Storefront Program which allows merchants to display merchandise which they sell in their stores on the sidewalk in front of their businesses.
For this reason the city no longer issues permits for Sidewalk Sale Days.
In 2020, due to the pandemic, the Myrtle Avenue BID had to cancel its street festivals, Ridgewood Seneca Avenue Stroll, Small Business Saturday and Pictures with Santa. The following event dates for 2021 are tentative and subject to change:
Street Festivals (Pending)
Spring Street Festival ~ April 18
(on Myrtle Av from Wyckoff Av to Forest Av)
Summer Street Festival ~ July 23
(On Myrtle Av from Forest Av to Fresh Pond Rd)
Fall Street Festival ~ September 26

The BID partners with the NYC DOT for the Ridgewood Seneca Stroll as part of the weekend walks program. Live music, free fun stuff & more for kids and adults!
